Pletta Gives Warriors Overtime Win

The Waldorf Warriors needed 4 minutes and 32 seconds of extra time before they knocked off the Minnesota-Crookston Golden Eagles by a score of 6-5. Dan Pletta, who didn’t play in the first two periods, scored the game winning goal in overtime. Corey Lorenz scored 2 goals and added an assist while Tyler Meadors, Jordan Van Son, and Caleb Maki all scored a goal each. With the win, the Warriors improve to 14-3 on the season and 7-2 at home.

Men’s Basketball Unable to Pull Upset

The Warriors were looking to pull off a big upset on Saturday as the 18th ranked Fighting Bees of St. Ambrose visited Hanson Fieldhouse. The Warriors led at halftime by a score of 43-39. In the 2nd half however, the Fighting Bees showed why they are nationally ranked. The Bees scored 62 points in 2nd half alone en route to a 18 point victory. Eddie Taylor-Boyce led the team with 26 points while Brian Tollette scored 22 points of his own. Greg Howell also added 15 points in the loss. The Warriors next home game will be their last of the season as they take on Grand View next Saturday at 3P.M.

Women’s Basketball falls to St. Ambrose

The Warriors came up short against the St. Ambrose Queen Bees as they fell 82-67. Aubrey Draves led the Warriors with 17 points and 6 rebounds while Allie Davison scored 12 points off the bench. BreeAnn Hageman scored 11 points and had 9 rebounds in the loss. The Warriors next home game will be next Saturday against Grand View. It will also be senior night for the Warriors.

AIB Takes Down Women’s Basketball

The Waldorf Warriors just couldn’t keep up with the AIB College Eagles as they fell by a score of 72-61. Megan Howard led all scorers with 18 points while McKinsey Nessa had 16 points and Ashley Vratny added 14 points. BreeAnn Hageman led the Warriors in scoring with 14 points while Aubrey Draves added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the loss. The Warriors next game will be their home finale against St. Ambrose University.

Women’s Basketball Shutdowns North Central

The Waldorf women’s basketball team got a big boost tonight as they dominated the North Central Rams in a 67-50 win at Hanson Fieldhouse. The Warriors had 3 players score in double figures as Aubrey Draves led the team with 19 points while BreeAnn Hageman added 17 points. Lindy Pins also scored 12 points in the victory. The next home game for the team will be February 8th against St. Ambrose University.

Warrior Hockey Routs St. Mary’s

The Waldorf Warriors ended their weekend on a good note as they thrashed the St. Mary’s University Cardinals by a score of 7-1. Tyler Meadors led the team with a hat trick, while Jesse Orttel had 2 goals. Brent Putney and Adam Mendoza also had a goal each in the win. Mike Nelson made 23 saves to earn his 8th win of the season. The Warriors return home on February 11th when they will host the Iowa State “B” team.

Warrior Hockey Falls in Thriller

Brody Miller scored the game winning goal for the St. Mary’s University Cardinals with just 40 seconds left to lift them over the Waldorf Warriors. Jesse Orttel scored a hat trick in his first home game as a Warrior, while Caleb Maki and Brent Putney also scored for Waldorf. The Warriors trailed 4-2 at the end of the 2nd period before taking the lead 5-4 midway through the 3rd period.

Men’s Basketball Comes Up Short Against Viterbo

The Warriors couldn’t get anything going in the 2nd half as they fell to Viterbo by a score of 67-44. Waldorf only trailed by 6 at the half but a big Viterbo run would be the difference in this one. The Warriors were paced by Brian Tollette with 13 points while Mitch Barrett-Burrell added 9 points. The Warriors are now 9-9 overall and 5-6 in the MCC.

Women’s Basketball Captures Comeback Win

The Warriors overcame a 12 point deficit in the 2nd half and picked up a gritty 63-58 win. Waldorf spread out their offensive efforts on the night.  Aubrey Draves , BreeAnn Hageman, and Ellie Markwardt each collected 10 points. Joni Lillo and Allie Davison both added 9 points. With the win, the Warriors move to 6-15 overall and 4-7 in the MCC.

Chennault’s Free Throws Give Warriors The Win

Sean Chennault’s free throws with 2 seconds remaining in the game was the difference on Wednesday night. After a hard fought game the Warriors improved to 8-7 on the season and 4-4 in the Midwest Collegiate Conference. Chennault ended with 8 points on the night while Brian Tollette scored 12 points and Matt Fridberg added 10 points. Below are Chennault’s game winners.

Women’s Basketball Ends Losing Streak

After an intense game at Hanson Fieldhouse the Waldorf women’s basketball team came away with a 60-55 victory over Clarke University. With the win, the Warriors end an 8 game losing streak. Shayna Geitzenauer led the team with 13 points, while Ellie Markwardt scored 12. BreeAnn Hageman and Aubrey Draves each added 11 points in the win.

The Warriors extended their winning streak to 3 games as they defeated the Bethany Lutheran College Vikings by a score of 75-55. BreeAnn Hagemann led the Warriors with 19 points while Aubrey Draves added 17 points. Shayna Geitznauer scored 9 points while Goli Tavassoli and Mollie Franzen each chipped in 8 points. Anna Cepek led the Vikings with 19 points while Jessica Englund added 18 of her own. The Warriors next game will be December 10 against Viterbo University.

Men’s Basketball Comeback Falls Short

After trailing by as many as 18 at one point in the 2nd half, the Waldorf Warriors men’s basketball team made a furious comeback against Ashford University before ultimately falling by a score of 62-59. Eddie Talyor-Boyce led the Warriors with 16 points and also had 6 rebounds. Brian Tollette had 13 points and 3 rebounds in the loss. The Warriors next game is December 3rd at William Penn.

Women’s Basketball Wins Thriller

The Waldorf women’s basketball won an amazing game over Ashford University Wednesday night by a score of 53-52. Madison Wagner threw up a prayer at the buzzer but it would not fall and the Warriors held on for the win. Aubrey Draves led the team with 20 points and 14 rebounds while Elle Markwardt added 13 points.

The Waldorf Warriors came out swinging but it just wasn’t enough against the defending NCAA D-III national champions. Jacob Combs won in the final match of the night for the heavyweights and Cameron Childs won via forfeit for Waldorf. The Warriors next match will be against Augsburg college on November 22nd in Minneapolis.
