This game could be described in just one word, domination. From the opening face-off, the Waldorf Warriors proved that the Augustana Vikings were no competition. Waldorf scored seven goals in the first period en route to a 11-0 victory over Augustana College on Friday night. Brent Putney recorded the first hat trick in school history. Dan Pletta, Jordan Van Son and Josh Bevers each had two goals in the contest. While Cody Rozales and Hunter Osenbaugh each had one goal. Michael Nelson recorded the first shutout in school history as he stopped all seven shots the Vikings threw at him. The Warriors set a school record with 82 shots on goal. The two teams meet again on Saturday in Albert Lea. Faceoff is at 2:30 p.m.

Waldorf Hockey Wins First Game in School History

The Waldorf College hockey team has arrived. In their first game in school history the Warriors knocked off the Dordt College Blades 6-3. Christian Weber scored the first goal in school history 3:43 into the first period. Dordt would tie the game at 1 late in the first, but the rest of the game was all Waldorf. They scored 2 goals in the 2nd period to take a 3-1 lead heading into the 3rd. After a early Dordt goal that made the score 3-2, the Warriors erupted for 3 unanswered goals to take a commanding lead. Dordt added a goal late to make it 6-3. Joshua Bevers led the team with 2 goals and 2 assists. Christian Weber finished with 2 goals and an assist, while Dan Pletta and Hunter Osenbaugh also scored for the Warriors.

Warriors lost a tough match as they just couldn’t get the bounces to go their way. The Warriors lost the match by a score of 25-18, 25-19, 19-25, 25-7. The Warriors next home match is next Tuesday against Grand View.

Women’s Soccer Wins in Overtime

The Waldorf College women’s soccer team rallied for a big win on Saturday to stay undefeated on the new turf at Bolstorff Field. After blowing a 1-0 lead with just 8 minutes to play in regulation, Molly O’Brien scored the game winning goal with just over a minute to play in the overtime period. O’Brien faked out a defender before blasting a shot past the Iowa Wesleyan goalkeeper. Airenne Curry also scored for Waldorf, her goal came in the first half of the game.

After a hard fought battle, the Waldorf volleyball team fell to Iowa Wesleyan at Hanson Fieldhouse last night.  The Warriors fought back all night back came up just short. The scores of the game 25-19, 25-21, 23-25, 26-24

Waldorf Football Picks Up First Win

Waldorf College Football improved to 1-3 on the season with a 30-20 win over the Trinity Bible College Lions. The Warriors overcame an early 13-0 deficit to get the victory. The Warriors next home game is October 8th against Grand View. The game will be broadcasted live on the Warrior Sports Network at 1pm. So tune in to KZOW 91.9 FM to catch all the live action.
