Marketing Director
Hello KZOW lovers! My name is Mikayla Fisher and I am from Eldora, Iowa. I am a senior Communications major with emphasis in Public Relations. I also love learning the radio and t.v. side of the field.
This is my second year serving as KZOW’s Marketing Director. As the Marketing Director, I work hand-in-hand with WalTV’s (Waldorf’s television station) Marketing Director to establish relationships with the Forest City community and surrounding businesses. I also help plan weekly live events to promote upcoming Waldorf and community activities. Along with the events, I am responsible for creating a game or activity to go with the event to get students and faculty involved with the radio station. Donations from KZOW sponsors are given away as prizes to the winners of each game!
Outside of spending time doing radio activities, I really enjoy traveling.This Summer I got to take my dream trip! I went with the Waldorf Communications and Honors programs on a three week adventure of Europe! The trip really helped me decide what I would like to do after the completion of my degree. My goal after graduating college is to get a job that allows me to travel. My family and I go on a cruise every winter and that has allowed me to discover my passion for becoming a Cruise Director. I would love to put my Communications skills into creating a wonderful traveling experience for all fellow wanderlusters.
During my free time I enjoy hanging out with friends and playing sports of any kind. I love to keep busy and stay active. You will find me in the gym if I’m not in the classroom. I also love to read and write. I also have to earn money somehow, so I spend a lot of my time working at Shooterz here in town.
I am so excited for this school year and to put my creative ideas into the Marketing program and KZOW 91.9 as a whole! Make sure to stay tuned to the website for pictures of events and also keep up to date on events coming up!
